Profiles of Success
Using XpertRule's XpertRule Miner data mining technology, historical student test records can be used to generate decision trees for determining an optimal question sequence for profiling a successful or unsuccessful student.

A Three Tiered Approach
XpertRule Knowledge Builder on the Internet, intranets, and networks in general suggests a three-tiered approach to designing assessment driven systems with just-in-time tutorials.

• Tier 1 is the Database Layer, where the primary component may be an existing SCORM compliant Learning Management System (LMS) with additional tables for use by the new Logic Layer.
• Tier 2, The Logic Layer contains the rules knowledge base defining how to present each dialog and tutorial.
• Tier 3, The Presentation Layer, may be HTML, MS .NET Windows Dialogs, or some other form.

All three tiers, typically maintained separately, may run server side, the Presentation Layer serving as the client.  The design can be completely SCORM compliant.  The Logic Layer knowledge based system manages the SCO’s or the knowledge bases interact with the SCORM API as SCO’s.

Configurator Technology Offers Tailored Curriculum
Test developers use XpertRule Knowledge Builder's eConfigurator technology to simplify and individualize complex curricula.  By establishing the training goals, reviewing the training record of the student, and giving the student an adaptive assessment test for placement details, it is possible for the knowledge based system to configure a curriculum different and perfectly suited to each student.  This curriculum then drives all of the training and testing to achieve the specified training goals as well as to provide just-in-time modules on or off the job.
